The (short) story of Betsy's life I was born on June 1, 1958 in Salt Lake
where my father was attending the University of Utah. After he finished his undergraduate work, we moved to Birmingham, Alabama
for medical school. When my father graduated from medical school he joined the Army so over the next few years our family
had the opportunity to live in several different cities, including Honolulu, Ft. Knox, San Antonio, and Colorado Springs.
We finally settled in Decatur, Alabama where I met and in 1979 married Robert (Butch) Green.
I have always loved
to write but decided to make a serious attempt at writing a novel during the fall of 1999. It took me 8 months to complete
my first book which was later rejected by publishers. My second attempt, Hearts in Hiding, was published in May of 2001.
I am very thankful for the opportunity to write books, but there can be no question that the greatest accomplishments
of my life were - first marrying Butch and second - becoming the mother of the eight greatest people I know. ______________________________________________________________________________________________
The Green Children -
Sarah Catherine - The
big news with Cathy and her family is that they moved to Madison, Mississippi this summer. Ricky's job transferred him and
they are settled into a nice new house and love the area/schools, etc. But it is a long way from home. Abbie is in the 4th
grade and she's having a great year. Andie is four and looking forward to starting school next year. We miss them all.
Laura Amanda - Laura and her family are still in Rexburg (so we
miss them too). Josh is an agent for Farmer's Insurance. Harrison just turned 4, Atticus is 1 1/2 and they are expecting a
new baby (another boy) in March.
James Robert - Jamie runs two Subways while Paris runs after Banx. Thaddeus James Green joined
their family on June 28th but fortunately he is still to young to run! He is huge though - so it might actually be better
when he can!
Grace Elizabeth - Grace still lives nearby so we
get to see her often. Aaron works for CVS and Target while going to school. Scarlett is a year old!
John Thomas - Tommy is at BYU and enjoying
college life. He has a marketing job that he loves and classes that he (mostly) likes.
Emily Anne -Emily is home from BYU-Idaho for the winter term! Yay!!!
Joseph Andrew -
Andy is also home from BYU-Idaho. For the next six weeks we will be getting him ready for his mission. He will be serving
in the North Carolina Raleigh Mission and he reports to the MTC in Provo on February 15th.
William Clayton - Clay is thorougly enjoying
9th grade. He played football and has now convinced me to let him wrestle. He's making good grades and getting up on time
for seminary. I can't ask for anything more!
